Description
This 1980 Rolls-Royce Corniche is a hand-built convertible that is finished in black over a black leather interior and is powered by a 6.75-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.
Built on the Silver Shadow platform, the Corniche features distinctive two-door styling and combines British craftsmanship with elegant open-top motoring. The body is finished in a classic shade of black and features a power-operated black soft top.
Exterior details include quad headlamps, bright beltline and window trim, a chrome grille with the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy ornament, and color-matched bumpers with rubber impact strips. Factory 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with OEM spec tires.
The cabin is upholstered in black Connolly leather with matching door panels, carpets, and dashboard top, all accented by burl walnut wood veneers throughout the dash, console, and door cappings. Amenities include power windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, a power antenna, and a factory Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo.
Power comes from a 6.75-liter V8 equipped with twin SU carburetors (or Bosch fuel injection, depending on spec) and is paired with a GM-sourced Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission. The car features independent suspension at all four corners with a self-leveling rear setup, power-assisted disc brakes, and rack-and-pinion steering introduced during the prior model updates.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 78,060 miles, which are believed to be original.
